Aussie birthdays

Happy birthday today to Craig (41) and Keegan (6)!

We celebrated by going to Hog's Breath Café for lunch and satisfied Craig's craving for a real Aussie steak.

Those curly fries were so yummy!

Then it was movie time. Nana looked after Tirzah, while Grandpa joined the rest of us to watch "Toy Story 3". Of course the kids' favourite part was when Buzz Lightyear changed into his Spanish mode.

After the movie we had a little birthday party with lollies, chips, and fizzy drink all chosen by Keegan. His cousins Jonathan and Benjamin were in attendance too.

Some of the birthday presents featured below are as follows: Buzz jacket, Toy Story Lego kit, cricket gloves, cricket figurine of Adam Gilchrist, pick up sticks, and Maximum Maxx cricket book.

Zoo day

Today was a fantastic outing to Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo. Aunty Judith and Jonathan joined us there after a couple of hours to make it even more fun. Some of the animals were harder to spot in their created habitats, but many of them came right up close to the fence, as you can see from the photos. The highlight from our day was having our picnic lunch near the gibbon apes' enclosure and being treated to their noisy duet and antics at feeding time. The children each chose a souvenir from the gift shop, and we finished off the outing with a long session at the fantastic zoo playground.

Thank you, Brian, for all the hours driving you did for us. And thank you, Eleanor, for all the meals you prepared (yum!) and for helping with our washing and getting our bedding ready at the Anderson's house. We're having a lovely holiday.

Baking with Nana

For a long time Jemilla has been looking forward to baking with her Nana. This afternoon while I was out shopping they made jam drop biscuits. I don't know the actual recipe, but they look and taste delicious. In fact, I'm eating one now!

Dedication

Today was a special family celebration of which we were privileged to be a part. Craig's sister Judith and her husband Doug live in Dubbo with their two boys, Jonathan and Benjamin. Today was their youngest son, Benjamin's dedication at Dubbo Presbyterian Church. It was a time for Doug and Judith to state publicly that they want to raise Benjamin to love Jesus and serve him. We, as members of the congregation, heard their desire to be Godly parents, and we promised to pray for them.
