Tirzah's last trip to Disneyland

The children were each been promised one last trip to a Hong Kong theme park of their choice before our departure in July. Therefore, Tirzah and I recently spent the day at Disneyland seeing all her favourite shows and going on all her favourite rides with no waiting around for her older siblings.

The last time we came to Disneyland we waited with the Peets for nearly an hour in line for this Slinky Dog ride. The rest of us thought it was quite tame, but Tirzah proclaimed it her favourite. Today as soon as the gates opened we headed straight to Toy Story Land. Not only were we the first customers to ride Slinky Dog, we were the only ones on the whole ride!

Grizzly Gulch is a new section of Disneyland we enjoyed exploring.

Tirzah was absolutely thrilled to meet Tinkerbell and have some photos taken with her.

Waiting for the afternoon parade to start

After the parade we waited in line to meet the most popular characters in Hong Kong Disneyland. Normally we wouldn't have bothered but Tirzah had drawn a picture of Mickey Mouse that she wanted to hand-deliver. Mickey and Minnie made a big fuss of Tirzah's drawing and of her...I'm glad we did it.

Tirzah was allowed to choose any souvenir from the shops in Disneyland. After her special encounter with Tinkerbell that morning, you can understand her purchase.

We had a lovely day together at Disneyland. I hope she will remember it for the rest of her life.

Easter fun at Forest Hill

Today we visited the clubhouse at our estate to participate in some planned Easter children's games.

Tirzah and her friend Anna burned a lot of energy on the jumping castle.

Keegan raced the timer in a cup-stacking game.

This activity required steady hands and precision to roll a ping pong ball down two parallel strings and into a cup to receive a prize.

Jemilla sat at the craft table and planted some seeds into an egg filled with soil.

This was a popular game requiring contestants to step on a board to shoot a ball out of a cup onto a vertical target board.

At home this week we have been indulging in some homemade Easter treats.

Next Easter we will be able to eat hot cross buns again. After four years away from home, the children have forgotten what they taste like!

Easter fun at playgroup

On Tuesday I took a personal day off work, so I had the pleasure of attending playgroup with Tirzah. We met the other families at Shatin for some special Easter activities.

This was a Christian object lesson with plastic eggs that spelled out "Easter".

Tirzah helped with a little song.

Every child was given a paper bag.

We listened to instructions about the Easter egg hunt. Of course Tirzah was an expert, having done a hunt at church just on the weekend!

We didn't keep the plastic eggs, just the goodies inside, such as this sticker.

After the hunt we enjoyed a picnic lunch and play together.

Despite the gloomy weather, there was a great turn-out on the day!
