Fast cricket in a fast city

Does "fast cricket" seem like an oxymoron to you?

Craig was overjoyed today to watch Australia take their first ever Hong Kong Sixes title, beating Pakistan on the last ball.

And Renee was somewhat bored watching Keegan this afternoon at cricket practice in Tai Po.

One cricket match is much the same as another, right?

For those interested in more detail...

The Aussie team chasing 133 (David Warner was captain) needed 46 runs off the last over of the grand final to win. (The semi's and grand final of the 8 country competition were 5 x 8 ball overs per team so it was possible.) After some sixes and sundries it was down to just 4 runs needed off the last two balls, (thanks to a couple of wides and a no ball bouncer) the game was ours to win. Then Warner's batting partner went for glory and got caught out on the boundary. With four still required to win, the last ball went past Warner's pads down the leg side, beat the keeper and into the boundary for 4! The Aussies win!

    You little beauty!

  2. Sounds like fun Craig! Renee, you and I will have to agree to differ on this one - cricket can be exciting if you let yourself get into it!!!
