I'll preface this post by saying that I am really not a "shoe person". I have a few Colorado work shoes that are several years old and will do me just fine for a few more years. I have one pair of sneakers, one pair of thongs and one pair of boots, and that's about it in my shoe cupboard. However, when I saw the Converse Marimekko Chuck Taylor High Tops online last July, I instantly fell in love with them. I loved the bright colours and the pattern and the way they screamed "fun". I excitedly ordered a pair to be brought back from the States by my friend Amy, but mistakenly ordered the wrong size. The shoes were a limited edition and quickly sold out around the world. I was quietly devastated. Imagine my joy this week when Craig produced them from behind his back, saying "Happy Mother's Day!" A friend kindly drove out of his way to obtain the last pair in my size (correct this time!) in a particular Californian outlet store and hauled them back to Hong Kong just for me.
So I am definitely feeling the love...
And the fun...
I LOVE these shoes. I hope that you will soon include a picture of you wearing them. I think that they were worth all of the effort and trouble to obtain them. Happy Mother's Day to you!
ReplyDeleteCraig, I am SO impressed!
ReplyDeleteSo were the other ones too big? Just wondering because I know someone who definitely is a shoe person.
ReplyDeleteSorry, Carla, I returned the shoes last August when I realised they were miles too big.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Craig surprised me with another present; he framed my seahorse picture! It looks lovely in a dark green frame with a white matt border.
This is your mother speaking:at all costs when wearing the above mentioned shoes AVOID walking in horse manure, yucky mud and freshly mown grass. All should be fine in HK!
