Camp (by Jemilla)

This week I went with the fourth and fifth graders from ICS to camp for three days. It was awesome! I had been excited about camp and waiting for this day for a whole year! These are all the photos I took.

My Mother's Day present

I'll preface this post by saying that I am really not a "shoe person". I have a few Colorado work shoes that are several years old and will do me just fine for a few more years. I have one pair of sneakers, one pair of thongs and one pair of boots, and that's about it in my shoe cupboard. However, when I saw the Converse Marimekko Chuck Taylor High Tops online last July, I instantly fell in love with them. I loved the bright colours and the pattern and the way they screamed "fun". I excitedly ordered a pair to be brought back from the States by my friend Amy, but mistakenly ordered the wrong size. The shoes were a limited edition and quickly sold out around the world. I was quietly devastated. Imagine my joy this week when Craig produced them from behind his back, saying "Happy Mother's Day!" A friend kindly drove out of his way to obtain the last pair in my size (correct this time!) in a particular Californian outlet store and hauled them back to Hong Kong just for me.

So I am definitely feeling the love...

And the fun...

Mother's Day Tea Party

Today I attended a special Mother's Day Tea Party at Tirzah's kindergarten. The children prepared cards and gifts for their mothers, they served us some snacks, they sang a few songs and recited a poem, then they performed a play for us. I was very thankful I could get the time off work.

The cost of sending our children to an American school is that I am apparently a "Number One Mom" not "Mum". It's the thought that counts, though, and Tirzah was extremely thoughtful to spoil me in so many ways at our special Tea Party. Thank you to my dear little girl!
