On Tirzah's birthday last week we visited Identity Art Gallery to see “The Magical Kingdom of Illustrations”, an exhibition of original artwork that celebrates the fantastic skills of twenty contemporary children's book illustrators. My photos do not do the artists justice, of course, but I wanted Amanda and others to see the range of work on exhibition. Here is a small sample:

The gallery is open every day from 10:30am – 7pm. If you fall in love with any of the illustrations, the sixty or so artworks are all available to purchase.
What a fabulous collection of children's book illustrations - I was thrilled to see some of my favourite illustrators represented (Jill Murphy, Jane Hissey) I am so pleased you and Tirzah were able to enjoy the exhibition. There is a similar exhibition (all Australian illustrators though) coming to Maitland in the holidays and I can't wait to take the girls.
