Christmas Concert

Last night Craig and I had the pleasure of attending the Norwegian International School's Christmas concert. The three kindergarten classes performed first. Keegan's class did a beautiful dance while singing in Chinese.

Then they amazed the audience with their lovely handbells performances.

Jemilla's class sang "Christmas is a time to love".

Christmas is a Time
by Ernie Rettino and Debby Kerner

Christmas is a time,
Christmas is a time,
Christmas is a time to love.

We often start to worry,
and people get upset,
if things don't all go right on Christmas Day.

What we should remember
in all the push and shove
is Christmas is a time to love.

May be things don't sound right,
or look the way they should,
and may be they're not perfectly in tune.

It really doesn't matter,
let's keep our eyes above,
'cause Christmas is a time to love.

Grade Two then did some short skits pretending to be door-to-door carollers.

The concert program stated, "Many things have been added to Christmas so that we have crowded out its true meaning." Through their skits and songs NIS students reminded everyone what this special season is really all about...the birth of Jesus.

The last number was "Christmas isn't Christmas."

Christmas Isn’t Christmas
by Jimmy Carol Owens

Christmas Isn’t Christmas
'till it happens in your heart,
Somewhere deep inside you
Is where Christmas really starts;

So give your heart to Jesus,
you'll discover when you do
That it’s Christmas
Really Christmas for you.

Jesus brings warmth like a winter fire,
A light like a candle's glow;
He's waiting now to come inside
As He did so long ago.

Jesus brings gifts of truth and life
And makes them bloom and grow.
So welcome Him with a song of joy
And when He comes you'll know ..... that ...

Christmas Isn’t Christmas
'till it happens in your heart,
Somewhere deep inside you
Is where Christmas really starts;

So give your heart to Jesus,
you'll discover when you do
That it’s Christmas
Really Christmas for you.
