ACSI choir

Last night we attended a fantastic concert performed by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Asia Honour Choir. The choir was composed of over 100 students from the following schools: Faith Acadamy in the Philippines, Morrison Academy in Taiwan, Shenyang International School in China, and International Christian School in Hong Kong. When I listened to the concert, it reminded me of my own high school choir performances at International Christian Academy in Ivory Coast, West Africa.

Keegan liked seeing the drummers perform"Wana Baraka" a Kenyan folk song.

The ACSI Asia Honour Choir performed their "concert of diverse, challenging choral music" for approximately an hour. Jemilla and Keegan's favourite song was the arrangement of "Joshua fit the battle of Jericho", but I especially liked "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord".

Mr. Timothy Sawyer, a grammy award winner from Northwestern College in Minnesota, was the choir conductor. You can read his biography here. He mentioned during the concert that he is himself an MK from South America.

Considering how wriggly and noisy Tirzah has been during church lately, she was surprisingly well-behaved. She spent most of the time playing with the seat of her chair, "conducting" the choir, and taking bows at the end of every song.

  1. That would have been awesome Renee. There's nothing quite like a good choir concert - brings back memories for me too! Leonie.
